Photographer and Shot of the Year 2015
This is the big day we all waited for! The Photo Critic Shot of the Year and the Photographer of the Year Competitions for 2015 has finally been decided by our judges. Here they are:
The Shot of the Year competition is divided into two categories, Nature and Human Categories. The winners have been decided from the Shot of the Month Winners.
The Photographer of the Year is the grand prize. It is the highest accolade we bestow on a photographer we felt consistently submitted high-quality work throughout the year. Our winner, who has been performing exceptionally throughout the year, is Luke Brouwers! We are including a few of Luke's Featured Images below. If you would like to see more of his images, visit his Photo Critic Profile.
Luke Brouwers receives the following prizes:
Both Luke Brouwers and Caleb Dredge each receives the following:
* Please note that the prizes are non-refundable, non-exchangeable and non-transferable.
Our panel of judges consisted of a panel of 8 photographers from the DPC team, Danie Bester, Warren James, Deon Coetzee, Trompie van der Berg, John Fox, Bruna Mentrup-Nortje, Kevin Richards and Nolan Lister.
Scoring was done by adding each judge's score. The image, which scored the highest points in each of the two categories, Nature, and People, were awarded the Shot of the Year.
The most consistent members from South Africa have been nominated and then each judge voted for their photographer of the year. The member with the most votes was awarded the prestigious Photo Critic Photographer of the Year.
