Love the DJ by Nate Green

Picked this from a shoot I recently had with one of the top female DJs in Namibia. It was a shoot about promoting women in the industry.

Nikon D610, 50mm . Manual . ISO 600 . 1/400th/sec . f/4.5 . Meter Mode:Center weighted
Single Strobe.
All treatment and post editing done in LR. Amped the blacks and the shadows where needed. Then worked out the highlits and exposure in selected areas.

This is a very successful shot. Great work. I love the lighting, it is very effective, and the diagonal it makes is great. I agree with Danie on the visual weight of the arm. The forearm works well, the upper arm combined with forearm makes for a lot of visual attention. I think you could burn the upper arm to recede it. Danie and I have made this comment because this work excites us and we love to see refinement in work so well executed. The comment is not because we think you got it wrong or could have done it MUCH better. I think any client would be very pleased with this result.

I like how you've used the shadows to frame the woman's face. The expression is meaningful and suit the mood perfectly. The arm and shoulder is a bit distracting, visually just too heavy and does compete against the face though. I would like to see more of these please!
