Hi-Lea-Anne. Agree with Danie, I have got the same lens and it is a fantastic all purpose lens. Next time stand back zoom in and it will make a big diffrence, everything else works for me in this picture. You can also go into photoshop do a quick selection of your subject and then use Gussian Blur to blur out your background.
Kudos for using a reflector. Unfortunately, your subject is lost against the background i.e. the highlights and sharp details in the background, competes for attention. The dappled lighting i.e. on the arm and hand is also distracting in a minor way.
If you zoomed in much closer (105mm) and stood further back, while shooting at a wider and shot at a wider aperture (f/4). This would have effectively rendered the background out of focus and focused attention on your subject.
