Dankie Bruna en Gerda, ek was nogal gelukkig om hom in 'n boom raak te loop wat oortrek is met geel blomme.

Thanks for the comments guys! Glen, the image is more about the flowers than the Oriole. These trees flower in September come rain or drought and in an extremely dry year like the present one they give hope in what seems like a hopeless situation. They show abundance under trying circumstances, attracting and giving nourishment to a wide variety of species. I wanted to capture this and was glad to find this beautiful Oriole to not only compliment, but also to contrast this overwhelming scene.

Powerful colors and great contrast with the birds black feathers and its eye. I find the bird is being overpowered by the huge amount of yellow flowers, I think less flowers on the left by cropping a bit will present the bird a bit better and keep the viewers eye on the bird and not allow it to wander all over the image. Overall a very pleasing and striking photo. Lighting and exposure of birds feathers well handled.

'n Mooi foto, die geel is vir my byna te oorweldigend, maar die rooi van die snawel en oog, asook die swart kop kompenseer.
